What is the University Approach?

Our goal is to assist you in your calling to disciple and train your children.  We feel this is best accomplished by coming alongside you and assisting you in the areas of academics without taking over in the parenting role God has uniquely called you to.  We see you as a co-teacher with us, in that you are teaching and training your child's heart and attitudes for the 3 week days he or she is home with you, while coaching your child in the subjects  that have been taught while at the GCA campus on his or her two days of formal instruction.

What does this really look like for CORE classes?

Your student will receive formal instruction in all of the basic core subject areas while at class for two days each week.  The home study days will involve reading, writing, and other projects which are assigned in class and will be turned in for grades on the formal school days.  While the home days can take on a more relaxed pace and atmosphere, they do still require that your student have sufficient time for study and learning.  The amount of time spent studying at home will vary from student to student, but may be affected by your student's reading level  and by the level of concentration he or she gives to the task at hand.

What does this really look like for "a la carte"  or "enrichment" classes?

Many of our classes are offered individually or on our Friday Enrichment Day.  Our goal is to serve your family in the areas you most need assistance.  Some families prefer to have assistance in all academic areas, while others are best served in coming to a class once a week for art, PE, or upper level math.  We have a selection of courses that you may choose from.  Most of these are offered on Friday, but a few are scattered throughout the week.
